About MISD

We are committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where all students can thrive.

Who We Are

We are proud of our academic accomplishments at McGregor ISD. This tradition of success comes as a result of a commitment by our district and from the community to provide a high-quality educational experience in every program and every grade level for our students. We recently completed a new strategic plan that will serve as the Framework for Building Champions at McGregor ISD. Our high school received multiple distinctions for academics from the state and has 96% percent of graduating seniors achieve College, Career, and Military Readiness. We have revamped our AP curriculum and increased our course offerings for Dual Credit. Our Junior High has added high school credit options while also implementing advanced courses in mathematics. Our elementary school has excelled at both interventions and enrichment for students and we have a brand new curriculum for Pre-K at our primary campus. We are committed to working together with all our stakeholders to make success a reality for each of our students.

Our students are well rounded, with success in athletics, the arts and career and technical education.  Our students routinely earn accolades at the district, post-district, and state levels of competition. In 24-25, every girls athletic program advanced to the post-season. We had multiple students sign athletic scholarships to play at the next level. Our band, theater, art, and dance students excelled as well. Each year McGregor routinely places students in the TMEA state band. We had our highest number of students to date qualify for the State VASE competition in art and our One Act Play advanced to the second round of UIL competition in theater this past year. Our FFA program is top notch, whether it is showing animals or competing in Career and Leadership Development Events. We have also made significant improvements to our programs of study. This includes a nursing residency program, audio visual technology program, welding program, and will soon be adding an auto-mechanics program. There is something for everyone at McGregor ISD! We encourage students to be involved and not only feel like they belong, but feel like they are part of the family.

Our graduates are prepared for life. Whether our graduates plan to go to college, enlist in the military, or enter the workforce, students leave McGregor ISD with the tools they need to be successful. MHS graduates are accepted into some of the finest colleges and universities in the country and annually receive over $1 million in scholarships. With a growing industrial park, our students have opportunities to earn multiple Industry Based Certifications to ensure that they are ready for the workplace. Given a rich history with the military, McGregor ISD routinely enlists graduates in multiple branches of the armed forces each year. Many of our graduates return to McGregor to raise their families, serve on the school board, lead in city government, or own a business. Students returning home to McGregor makes it a better place to live and learn.

Our teachers are innovators. McGregor ISD teachers receive professional development in order to best serve our students and help prepare them to be successful in college, their career, and in life. We develop students who are collaborators, communicators, and critical thinkers. To facilitate the development of all students, MISD has committed to providing a comprehensive and viable curriculum, along with research based instructional strategies. Our students have access to all the tools needed to be successful in a digital world, while learning in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.

Our community is supportive. We are currently working on $82 million worth of bond projects to enhance our student experience. The MISD Education Foundation contributed over $50,000 this past year to professional development and enhancing student experiences in the classroom. Our Bulldog fans regularly give of their time, talents, and treasures. Our students recognize the commitment the community has made to them and regularly serve the community. Students and clubs volunteer their time throughout the year to support the citizens of McGregor and continue the tradition of Revolution Day, where all high school students perform a day of service.

In short, McGregor ISD is a great place to be and we strive daily to Make McGregor Proud!
