McGregor Vision 2030

McGregor Vision 2030 is a long range strategic plan for the McGregor community that sets priorities, goals, and objectives as determined by the citizens of McGregor. It is our community’s plan for future success. McGregor Vision 2030 represents the core values shared by the City of McGregor, McGregor Independent School District, McGregor Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture, McGregor Community Development, and the McGregor Economic Development Council.

The process of developing the plan began in the summer of 2013 with a series of informal meetings designed to select an individual or group to the lead the Vision process. As a result of those meetings, Baylor University Community Partnerships contracted to facilitate the development process. Rosemary Townsend was selected as Project Coordinator.

The project took off in the fall of 2013 with the formation of a Steering Committee, followed by four community meetings and an on-line survey. The meetings and survey resulted in approximately 750 responses from community members, expressing their opinions on McGregor’s strengths and areas of needed improvement. The respondents also suggested investments in key areas that should guide community leaders in the future. The Steering Committee was thrilled to see 15% of our community members participate in this process.

The result is McGregor Vision 2030, our road map for the future of this great community. There is much work to be done, but it should be noted that actions are already underway to meet several identified goals and objectives. The Steering Committee will meet periodically to determine the progress the McGregor community is making towards the achievement of all Vision goals and objects.
